“Phir Ek Baar, Modi Sarkar”: BJP unveils slogan for 2019 polls

The BJP on Sunday unveiled its campaign tag line, slogans and theme song for Lok Sabha polls, seeking Prime Minister Modi’s return with the slogan: “Phir Ek Baar, Modi Sarkar” or “Modi once again”.

Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley revealed the campaign themes at a presser at the party headquarters in New Delhi, hours after the Congress had unveiled its campaign slogan “Ab Hoga Nyay”.

“The first theme of our campaign will be ‘Kaam Karne Waali Sarkaar’ (A government that works). Our second theme will be ‘Imaandar Sarkaar’ (Honest government). Our third theme will be ‘Bade Faisle Lene Waali Sarkaar’, (A decisive government that takes big decisions),” he said. These sub themes would, he said, coalesce around the larger theme of “Modi once more”.

Jaitley said that the campaign would also dwell on the need for a decisive, full majority government. “We want a government with one captain and not a team of 11 members with 40 captains,” The Hindu quoted him as saying, a reference to opposition alliances against the BJP in crucial States.

The BJP also launched its campaign song – ‘Phir se Modi Sarkar Banate Hai/Phir se Kamal Khilate Hai’, (lets elect Modi government again, let’s help lotus bloom again).

The party did not reveal which creative agency was involved in producing the campaign material. A source in the party said it was an in-house exercise.
