UP colours saffron in civic elections, 14 out of 16 Mayors from the BJP

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), 01 December, 2017 Chief Minister Yogi Aditya Nath has proved his mettle in the first civic elections making the party win 14 out of 16 Mayoral seats and lead in Nagar Panchayats and Municipal Councils as well. The BSP won two Mayoral seats and ranked second in mayoral elections though not worth comparison between the twos. The Samajwadi Party is next after the State’s ruling party in municipal councils and nagar panchayats.

Results of the civic polls

The BJP won 14 mayoral seats and the SP won 2.

The BJP won 596 Councilors, the Congress won 110, the AAP won 3, the AIMIM won 12, the BSP won 147, the RLD won 4, the Shiv Sena won 1, the SP won 202

The BJP won 67 Nagar Palika Chairs, the Congress won 9, the BSP won 29, the CPI won 1, the SP won 45

The BJP won 916 Nagar Palika Members, the Congress won 152, the AAP won 15, the AIMIM won 7, the All India Forward Block won 2, the BSP won 258, the CPI won 7, the RLD won 10, the Shiv Sena won 2, the SP won 476

The BJP won 100,the Congress won 17, the AAP won 2 Nagar Panchayat Chairpersons, the AIMIM won 1, the All India forward block won 1, the BSP won 45, the RJD won 2, the RLD won 3, the SP won 83,

The BJP won 662, the Congress won 125, the AAP won 19 Nagar Panchayat Members, the AIMIM won 6, the All India Forward Block won 13, the NCP won 1, the BSP won 215, the CPI (M) won 1, the RJD won 6, the RLD won 34, the Shiv Sena won 1, the SP won 453

PM Modi said “Development has once again won in this country. Thanks a lot to the people of the state for the grand victory in Uttar Pradesh civic body elections. Many good wishes to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and all the party workers. This victory will inspire us to work harder towards the welfare of the people.”.

State Chief Minister Yogi Aditya Nath said “This victory is the victory of unwavering faith in the leadership of the Honorable Prime Minister and the hard work of respected National President and lakhs of workers of the BJP and the public welfare policies of the state government and the unwavering faith in the developing rule. We will continue to work on the path of development.”

National President of the BJP Amit Shah said “Today, in the local body elections of Uttar Pradesh, the Congress party has vanished in the Gandhi family’s Lok Sabha constituency Amethi and Rae Bareli.
Congress leaders in Gujarat say that Congress should come here, while the people of Amethi-Rae Bareli say that Congress should go and go.”
